STEVE & LAVONNE HEETLAND Steve & LaVonne Heetland moved to the Alamogordo area a decade ago after Steve retired from the Army. Having circled the globe during their decades of service, they chose to settle in our community. Both grew up on Iowa farms and received their undergraduate degrees at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Steve continued his education with two Master’s Degrees and a doctorate. Both Steve and LaVonne taught music prior to Steve becoming a parish pastor and later an Army Chaplain. After extensive renovation to the Memories Restaurant they opened in December of 2022 with the intent of providing the community with fine dining experience.
